Our dream is to continue our collective of committed storytellers– those who have an inkling of their desire to share stories and those who are practiced. All are welcome. This is a practice circle. This is a place to deepen your connection with the stories that are Courting you.

“People are not here on earth to succeed; they are here to feed the beauty of the way they go about ordinary things to feed the Holy in Nature, a beauty that only a Natural Human can give. Keeping the seeds alive needs an Origins Home, and peace needs seeds of culture replanted and eaten in the throne of stories.” -Martín Prechtel

So welcome to the throne of stories.

The format will be:

  • Welcome – and moment to drop in to stillness, to silence, to Mystery
  • Few words from me- or whoever leads the session- typically around as aspect of story craft
  • Go round the circle- inviting each of you to say hello, share a snippet of some storytelling news and give us a few lines, a poem, a bit of a story you are practicing.
  • Feature Storytellers for the evening will share more fully
  • Gratitude and Thanks

We are delighted you are joining us for this magical adventure, with our knees on our prayer mats, and our heads in the smoke hole (thank you to Martin Shaw) we begin.

Last Tuesday of the month.  You can book for the whole year or come to a circle to try.

Offerings

1:1 Sessions

Are you feeling stuck, or going through a challenging transition or time? Sarah offers 1:1 sessions based on the modality of School of Shamanic Womancraft which recognises that you have the answers within. Using shamanic womancraft processes you can bring awareness to the patterns and story of your rites of passage and your woundings – seeing them as opportunities for growth and initiation.

Ritual & Performance

I works in collaboration with women, and gender diverse people to co-create sacred ceremonies and ritual. My ritual work focuses on creating mytho- poetic and embodied stories of rites of passage and deepening our connection to the earth. I also work with artists and the wider community to create shared rituals and performance in honour of the earth, and to support the restoration of ceremony, art & ritual in our lives.

Storytelling & Writing

I am a storyteller, writer and emerging playwright. I believe that stories can change the world. As the writer Barry Lopez said, "Everything is held together with stories. That is all that is holding us together, stories and compassion."
I run a free Storytelling by the Fire session monthly in Highett. You can read some of my writing here, and sign up to my newsletter for my monthly writing and musings.
